Backpack - Backpacks are those travel bags in which you can carry all your trekking essentials
easily, so it should be of at least 50 to 60 liter.
There are many tutorials you can find on YouTube regarding how to arrange all the trekking
equipment in your backpack.

Inner wear - For all seasons, you can pack 3 pair of inner wear because you don’t bath during
the trek due to cold but you need to stay hygienic and for that you need to clean your body every
day and change the inner wear to stay out of allergies and diseases.

T-shirts - In summer, two full sleeve t-shirts are enough. In monsoon you should carry one or
more spare t-shirts,in case your cloths get wet in the rain while trekking. In winters, also three
t-shirts are enough as there are many layers to put over as well.

Thermals - Thermals are inner layers which we wear in winters and which keeps us warm.
During nights this should be the first layer, then t-shirts and then other layers have to put on.
Thermals are necessary to wear while sleeping because in the mountains temperature goes
down drastically during the night so it’s better to keep yourself warm and avoid unnecessary
sickness. Thermals are recommended for all seasons.

Fleece - Fleece is a thin and warm layer which we wear in less cold, in other words this also
called sweater or sweatshirts.
So, fleece has to put over t-shirts during trekking and this is also recommended for all seasons.

Down Jacket - Down jacket is the last layer which is very light in weight and very warm in more
cold. These are padded jackets which are filled with down feathers. Recommended for all seasons.

Trek pants - Trek pants are very light weight pants and these are designed to give comfort and
free legs movement while trekking.   You can also buy hiking shorts, hiking cargo pants, hiking
leggings as a substitute of trek pants. But make sure that, the fabric you are buying get easily dry
in case it will get wet. 2 trek pants are enough for all seasons.

Trekking shoes -  A must have thing for trekking, trek shoes should be of good quality and
comfortable as well, with the good grip because in trekking you never know what kind of trail
would appear, trails can be steep, slippery, hard snow, fresh snow, jungle trails. So, a good pair
of shoes would go perfect on treks. Recommended for all seasons and recommended brands are -
Quechua, Woodland, Salomon, Merrell.

Headlamp or LED torch - Headlamp is a light source that is highly recommended for travelers
and trekkers and which affixed to the head, as there is no electricity and light source during treks
so you got to put it on your head to do the activities when darkness appear. LED torch is the
substitute of it. Recommended for all seasons.

Trek pole - Trek pole or stick is very important for treks because it gives support to your legs
while trekking and lower the pressure on knees while trekking due to carrying heavy backpack.
Recommended for each kind of trails and every seasons.

Woolen socks - Why woolen socks?
Because you need to cover your feet to reduce the chances of sickness. 3 pair of woolen socks
are enough for all the seasons.

Woolen cap or balaclava - Woolen cap is necessary to cover your ear and balaclava is like
monkey cap which covers neck part also. Recommended for all seasons.

Neck warmer - Necessary to cover neck from fast blowing wind and cold. Recommended for
all seasons.

Poncho or light rain coat - Poncho is a kind of rain coat which protect the whole body part as well as your backpack from
rain. You can easily find it on decathlon or any other trekking equipment stores. If you are unable
to find it then normal rain coat can also work as its substitute. Recommended for all seasons
because weather is uncertain there in the mountains.

Bag Covers - Many backpack have inbuilt bag covers to protect bags from rain. In case backpack
doesn’t have then you can purchase bag covers which are water resistant. Recommended for all
seasons.

Gloves - You need to carry water proof gloves. Recommended for all seasons.

Water bottle - Carry one water bottle of at least one litter which can be easily fit in any side
pocket of your backpack. Recommended for all seasons.

Sleeping bag - In case you are not going with any community then you need to carry your
sleeping bag with yourself, and if you are going with some community then they will arrange
it for you. Sleeping bags are those bags in which we sleeps at night during treks, because you
don’t get any blanket over there so you have to sleep inside it. It comes in various sizes,
you can choose whichever fits you better. Recommended for all seasons.

Sleeping tents - Sleeping tents are your roof or you can say your home during treks, so in case
you are going with some community then they are going to arrange tents for you or if you are
going on a self-organized trek then you have to take it by yourself, you can get it on rent or
you can hire some sherpa for you who can arrange tents and pitch them too for you.
Recommended for all seasons.

Sleeping mats - Sleeping mats are your mattress, on which you sleep at night during the treks,
so again if you are going with any community than they are going to arrange it for you or
if you are on a self organized trek you get it on rent and carry it by yourself or you can hire a
Sherpa or local guide from there to arrange this for you. Recommended for all seasons.

Sun cap - Sun caps are required because you trek in days most of the time, so sun caps are
good escape from sun and reduces the chances of tanning. Recommended for all seasons.

Sunglasses - Highly recommended for winter treks, to not to loose the temporary vision due
to snow blindness. Snow blindness is very painful and occurs due to overexposure of sun’s UV
rays. So, its better to wear sunglasses if you are heading to snow trek.
Recommended mostly for winter treks and snow treks.

Light towel - Light towels are recommended for travelers and trekkers because it dries faster
than other traditional bath towels, even faster than cotton towels. It is made up microfibers which
soak up the moisture, so you can pack your backpack without getting others cloths wet.
Recommended for all seasons.

Cold cream & Sunscreen lotion- Petroleum jelly works best as a cold cream in the mountains
to save your skin from dryness.
Sunscreen lotion required because you’ve to trek in sunny days. Recommended for all seasons.

Personal toilet kit -  Personal toilet kit includes tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, face wash,
paper soap, and toilet paper. Recommended for all seasons.

Tissue paper - Instead of using wet wipes use tissue paper to clean your body because wet wipes
doesn’t dissolve easily and this is not good for our environment so use as less wet wipes as you
can. Tissue papers are good substitute for it as these are disposable. Recommended for all seasons.

Sanitiser -  There is less resources of water during treks and due to cold people prefer to sanitise
their hands to stay hygienic.

Plastic bags - Carry few plastic bags, to keep used inner wear in that and to keep cloths in case
those get wet in the rains, and to put wrappers of packaged foods, as you should not throw those
in the mountains coz there is not proper recycling and sustainable development system.
Recommended for all seasons.

Slippers or sports sandals - After trekking for many kilometers and arriving to the campsites,
your feet needs rest so after removing your trek shoes you can wear slippers and sports sandals
to roam here and there near the campsite. Recommended for all seasons.
